MXRD at Young

This weekend Dad and I went away for a boys weekend in Young. As I haven’t had any coaching Dad thought I might be more comfortable on the track if I know what to do with my bike. It was cold and wet and muddy and I fell over a few times but I learnt how to get out of the mud and how to deal with ruts. I had a lot of fun making washing for mum and learning new things. Dad just wishes I’d listen to him like I listen to others.

First Race Day

Today was my first race day. Dad was up super early making sure we had everything and when we left for the ACT track at 7am it was -3 degrees!  I had 4 races in the Nipper class today. There were about 8 kids in my races and some of them were really fast. I did my best at chasing them and got better each race, finishing in the top 4 every time. The ACT track is really lumpy and some of the 50’s were getting stuck in the ruts but one of the marshals told me “if you can ride this track, you can ride anywhere”. It was a long day and I’m a bit sore and tired today but I had a great time and can’t wait to do it all again.

I got a new bike!

I am so excited! Today I got a new bike! Mum and Dad decided that if I am going to race I should have a bike that is up to it so Dad drove to Dubbo (4 and a half hours away) to pick up a KTM 50SX for me. I just need some stickers now and I’m ready to go!

Time to Race

Last weekend I did a kickstart course with Race Pace in Mt Kembla so I could get my MNSW licence to start racing. It was an early start as we had to drive up from Canberra but I had fun. My endorsement is now signed so I can get my demo class licence. I’m really looking forward to my first race in May.
